Iron Man Comics
One of the most action packed
comic books and super hero of all time is The Invincible Iron Man. The comic
book character was first debuted in Tales of Suspense #39 in March 1963 and was
created and written by Stan Lee, the man who created the majority of Marvel
super heroes and characters. The debut Iron Man comic art work was done by
artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, while scripting was done by Larry Lieber.
Iron Man, born as Anthony
Edward Stark, and usually called "Tony", is an industrialist playboy and
mastermind engineer who suffers from a severe heart injury during a kidnapping,
which his captors force him to build a weapon on mass destruction to use against
the world. What looks like the creation of a powerful weapon, soon becomes the
Iron Man suit, which saves Tony and allows him to escape the grasp of his
terrorist captors.
Iron Man is most recognized
for being his own individual super hero, but through most of his comic book
history, Iron Man has been an active member of The Avengers.
Over the years, the Iron Man
character has been produced into it's own animated cartoon series, hundred
million dollar movies series starring Robert Downey, Jr. and every other type of
toy, costume or action figure you can think of.
